Deb You Taunt
Your adamantine heart
The verbena 'neath your panties
The stupid struggle I put myself through
The French never acquiesced so much
You marched through a vulnerable landscape
Assuming that all would remain the same
Plum blossoms obscured the day sky
The old oaks pulled up stake shadowing the sun
Following it sunrise to sunset as far as we could see
The oaks never stopped providing shade
Especially to those who didn't want it
This is what government is about: religion & love
Not much else is there
'Cept kippers & whispers a little port
The elegant way you tell me I'm useless
